Description

Electromechanical Waveguide Switches

QuinStar’s QWZ Electromechanical Waveguide Switches route signals through different transmission paths.  QWZ switches are 4-port mechanical devices that are rotational-solenoid driven and electronically controlled. They feature a bi-directional rotor accurately indexed to 90-degree positions. Thus, the user can connect each port to either of the adjacent ports. Further, precision machining with bearing and indexing grooves ensure smooth operation and accurate positioning.

We can configure the TTL control interface of the switch with either two drivers (standard) or one driver. Please see Ordering Information for how to specify this.

The switches are available in seven waveguide bands, covering the frequency range of 18 – 110 GHz. We also offer a manual waveguide switch. For more information, click here.

Applications

QWZ switches work well for remotely controlled transfer switching. For example, applications include satellite communications, radar, research and development, space systems, and test instrumentation.
