Specifications and Ordering

Our designs are built onsite and upon request. We tailor each order through our sales engineers to better serve your purchase.

Description

QuinStar’s Cryogenic Isolators are ferrite devices that offer exceptional performance down to the mK range. We design and manufacture our cryogenic isolators to meet your needs; our units come with customizable connector configurations. We also offer our cryogenic isolators in several magnetic shielding options to preserve the electrical performance of the devices when operating in strong magnetic fields.

Our standard cryogenic isolators are three-port components, with an input, output, and a terminated port to absorb reflected RF energy. These three ports constitute a single junction. In addition to single junction devices, our cryogenic isolators can be made as double, triple, or higher junction devices to meet your requirements. In a double junction device, the output of the first junction is cascaded into the input of the second junction. By doing this, the isolation of the unit is doubled, but by the same token so is the insertion loss. For example, if a single junction device has an insertion loss of 0.2 dB and an isolation of 20 dB, you can expect a double junction device to operate at 0.4 dB and 40 dB, respectively.

We also offer the QCI-G0301400XX, a unique isolator that uses a non-junction design to offer increased bandwidth and superior performance. Please note, however, that this device cannot be offered as a circulator.

Here at QuinStar, we are constantly reviewing and improving the performance of our cryogenic catalog. For the most up to date models and outline drawings, please contact our Sales Department.

In addition to individual units, we also offer all our cryogenic isolators in an array format. For more information, see QCC/QCN Cryogenic Arrays.
