Cast bends allow the waveguides to change direction in a compact way without affecting the signal quality or causing significant losses. Cast bends are made by using lost way process. We make castings in 712/LM31 and silicon bronze.
Cast bends can have different angles, such as 30, 45, 60 and 90 degrees, and different orientations, such as E or H plane.
The E plane is parallel to the electric field of the dominate mode TE10, while the H plane is perpendicular. Cast bends are optimized to have achieve a low voltage standing wave ratio. Cast bends are used in various applications, such as radar and satellite communication.
To meet the industry’s strict quality standards, cast bends are pressure tested and go went through electrical batch testing.
