QuinStar offers QMP Motorized Programmable Phase Shifters in all waveguide bands from 18.0 – 110 GHz. By comparison, QMP is a computer-controllable version of QuinStar’s standard Direct Reading Phase Shifter QPS. It provides a 0 – 360º phase shift range with 0.5 degree resolution.
A precision stepping motor controls the phase shifter. In addition to the phase shifter itself, the housing contains all control and driver electronics. Microprocessor-based electronics translate the phase shifter setting into the required motor position and provides the proper drive signals to the motor. The motor speed is variable to ensure accurate positioning and smooth operation.
This phase shifter is controlled either remotely through an IEEE-488 interface or manually with a front-panel control. A three-digit readout on the front panel displays the setting. The product requires a 24-volt, 500 mA power supply.
RF measurement systems use Motorized Programmable Phase Shifters. They work in RF substitution-type test arrangements for precise measurement of phase characteristics including both bridge circuits and phase networks.
